Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Apprentice to join our vibrant early childhood education team. This paid apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in childcare and nursery management while supporting the development and well-being of young children. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, compassionate, and eager to learn about early years education in a professional setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist qualified nursery staff in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities for children
- Support the supervision of children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and staff
- Observe and record children's progress, behaviour, and developmental milestones
- Support with organising educational resources and materials for daily activities
- Engage positively with children to promote their social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Assist with administrative tasks related to nursery operations as required
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is desirable but not essential; a genuine interest in early childhood education is required
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate leadership qualities when needed
- Management skills or experience in organising activities is advantageous
- A caring attitude with patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach towards young children
- Willingness to undertake relevant training programmes to develop childcare expertise
